MY BIG WORKSHOP
THE LAYERS OF MATTEO LOMONTE
My Big Workshop – What move you the most in your life ?
Matteo Lomonte – Pets and children. They are the ones that move a lot, they are the ones that stimulate my growth,
I evolve, and are a source of inspiration .
I just look at them to be curious, their ingenuity in new obstacles,
their laugh in every situation, to understand that they are the right way forward.
I always say that we should not forget to be children if we want to become adults.
My Big Workshop – Explain your daily routine?
ML – My days go along with the woman who completes me, without which I would not be who I am, Anna Sarah.
I do post-production when I hear that it’s time.
They are always in search on the web, or in public situations. I like to relax on the couch in front of a good movie trying to get inspired.
My Big Workshop – What is the most useful piece of advise you ve been given ?
ML – influential:
The first is “eternal Being a student, but second to none”. The second is a metaphor for “Burn the ships”.
In the sixteenth century, Hernan Cortes left for Central America with 11 ships and about 500 soldiers.
Landed on the Mexican coast, the general saw that his ships were positioned with the bow towards the sea in order to be ready to flee if things went wrong.
During the night, then, Cortes burned all the ships.
His disbelief, and said, Captain, and now what we will do in the event of defeat?
And the general said, remains only one chance … to win and go home with the enemy ships.
On that occasion, Cortes conquered the Aztec empire.
The first tip is a dogma, the second I have implemented in my life,
after 11 years of work in the army, with a good salary, a lot of holidays, but with a few concerns …
not my life, I decided to give resign and back into the game, experiencing what is now love, photography.
My Big Workshop – What makes you struggle now ?
ML – I want to save you time .. they are often among the clouds ^ _ ^
MBW – What would you say about your perception from your youth till now ?
ML – The perception of youth is the exact relationship between adulthood remaining children.
That ‘s right, I realize that despite the years pass, watch the eyes of a child is the elixir of youth.
MBW – What would you like to give for your legacy ?
ML – What I would like to leave with the heart, it is my happiness, and the will to fight that allows me always to achieve the desired objectives.
MBW – What did you want to be growing up ?
ML – I always had a lot of ideas and confused … I wanted to do everything, in fact I tried a lot of work.
But now I know that what I do is what I want.
MBW – How did you came to photography ?
ML – It seems trivial, but I got there by chance, only four years ago,
and when I realized I could tell myself photographing the emotions of other people in the most beautiful day of their lives,
I happened that it was the “Burn the ships time” and experience in photography,
starting to study and research to tell the most of these stories.
MBW – Who or what is inspiring you at the moment ?
ML – Right now I find inspiration in the cinema.
MBW – Where are you based right now and how is it shaping you ?
ML – I am based in Italy, in the beautiful Puglia, in Gioia del Colle exactly.
Here I can relax, the sun of Puglia model my mind and influences them when I go out to photograph this land.
MBW – Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now ?
ML – Where I see myself in 10 years I do not know .. maybe my unconscious you are ordering the universe ^ _ ^ !!!
Seriously, I think to live in the present because it is the best world be worked its future without losing anything.
MBW – Do you remember the saddest moment of your life ?
ML – Among the saddest moments is surely the death of my mother caused by a cancer, has clearly left a physical vacuum, but in the same way,
he gave me the strength to embark on a new journey, oddly his absence has become his mindfulness.
Other sad time or perhaps best difficult, it was last year, when at the height of wedding season, I also discovered to have a bowel cancer,
I had to admit, and then operate in the hospital, and kept me “off “for weeks, and made me sad, not cancer (then still benign result)
but not being able to tell those stories, not being able to be there, after these couples have chosen me to tell their best day ..
this I It made him very sad.
MBW – Is it important to you to be a part of a creative community ?
ML – It ‘important and fundamental. The word sharing should be the basis of all civilization.
Be part of this creative community, for sure I will and will make us grow.
MBW – Do you have any advise to share with people about the lifestyle to be a wedding photographer ?
ML : The advice I can give is to work for yourself, every marriage has to be an experiment,
choose the marriages they do for you, tell those where you empathize with the couple,
do not do so many marriages agreeing to photographing weddings only for money, but be those few who will inspire you.
Few, because in order to grow we need to pause, and above all we must enjoy life.
MBW – Thank you so much for your time, it is always a pleasure to know more about awesome people and connecting with them.
